幼少の頃より初代宗家である父泉川寛喜より古伝剛柔流の技法を学び、初代亡き後、二代目の兄寛文の師範代として後進の育成に努める。幼少の頃より工作が得意であったので、芝浦工業大学建築学科に進み建築家の道に進む。1982年に二代目がなくなり三代目を継ぐことになり、建築家と空手家の二つの道を歩むことになった。空手と建築の研究を通して建築デザインに新たな創造性を発揮し、また空手の世界では佐川派大東流の吉丸慶雪師に長年師事し、古伝剛柔流に合気技法を取り入れ独自の鍛錬と技法を創り上げた。現在は、建築家をリタイアし空手の研究と創造の日々を過ごしている。その成果は、YouTubeで一部見ることが出来る。
●From an early age, he learned the techniques of Koden Goju-ryu from his father, Kanki Izumikawa who was the first Soke. Since he was a child, was good at handcraft, so he went to the department of Architecture, Shibaura Institute of Technology and went on to become an architect. In 1982, the second Soke died and he succeeded the third Soke, and he decided to take two paths, an architect and a karateka. Through his research on karate and architecture, he demonstrated new creativity in architectural design. In karate, he studied under master Keisetsu Yoshimaru of the Daitoryu Aili-jujutsu for many years, and incorporated Aiki techniques into Koden Gojuryu, he create original techniques.
